Daniel J. Mulligan, Mathematics Specialist
- BA Mathematics, with Concentration in Secondary Education
- Certified Yoga Instructor (200 hour YTT)
Since 1986, Mr. Mulligan has taught advanced mathematics to students — often while also providing professional development to their teachers — in sixteen cities, including twelve U.S. states and two countries. For a majority of that time, he was an integral part of Project SEED, a long-running, nationwide nonprofit organization whose instructional strategies and methodology have been recognized as highly-effective on TV (CBS’ The Early Show) and in numerous local & national publications and evaluations. Instruction includes the use of hand and arm signals and “gestures,” which like other forms of action, can have profound effects on thinking and learning (Goldin-Meadow, 2003).
These experiences have given Mr. Mulligan a unique perspective regarding the past, present, and future of education in our rapidly changing world — including how to foster an effective learning strategy for students during the current pandemic. With his background in leadership, marketing, technology including virtual, management, and administration, Mr. Mulligan aims to be on the cutting edge in the virtual education industry.
An avid practitioner of yoga, Mr. Mulligan incorporates breathing techniques and movement into his instruction — designed to create a calm, focused atmosphere for students, and will blend this in with virtual instruction.
